About

Laura Andrade works in acrylic and mixed media from her home in California. Her paintings move between landscape, abstraction, and the occasional figure, built up in layers, reworked, and resolved into something that holds.

Gold leaf is a recurring material, pressed into skies, embedded in water, and used to find light where paint alone can't reach. Sand adds surface weight in select pieces. The landscapes tend toward open atmosphere: wide skies, last light over open ranges, bodies of water that hold more than their reflection. The abstracts are quieter and more interior.
